Recebemos a notícia de descobertas de pequenos fragmentos arqueológicos, muito distintos, encontrados por um grupo de arqueólogos russos, que estavam acampados em outra margem do Lago Sevan e fomos ao seu encontro.

We heard about the discovery of little archeological fragments, very unusual, found by a group of Russian archeologists, who were camping on the other side of Lake Sevan, and so we went to meet them.

O local era próximo a uma aldeia, porém o acesso era difícil e a caminhada longa.

The place was close to a village, but the access was difficult and the way long.

Chegamos ao acampamento após quase uma hora de caminhada.

We’ve got to the camping area after walking for almost an hour.

Durante uma pausa para comer e esperar os outros expedicionários, Inês avista um aglomerado de conchas na areia e recorda as paredes da “Pensão dos Físicos” construídas com fósseis petrificados cravejado de conchas marinhas. Surpreende-se, ainda mais, pois estas conchas  estavam fixadas em uma pedra.

During a break to eat and to wait for the other members of the expedition, Inês saw an agglomerate of shells in the sand which reminded her of the walls of the “Hostel of the Physicists,”  encrusted with petrified fossils of marine shells. She was even more surprised because those shells were fixed in stone.

Todos são avisados e imediatamente aprontam-se para iniciar a escavação.

Everybody was informed about it and got ready to begin excavation.
